Writing and Reviewing Diversity Documents
I have experience writing diversity reports and action agendas, assessment reports, and grant proposals. I have also written and critiqued advertising material and Web site content.
Advising on Diversity Relevant Projects and Initiatives
I have advised schools, colleges, and work units at Purdue University, as well as other universities, local businesses, corporations, nonprofit organizations and government agencies, to help improve their diversity competency.
Speaking to Groups about Diversity or Facilitating Diversity Discussions
I have experience talking to groups about diversity at educational, diversity, and psychology conferences. I have also given keynote addresses and been a speaker at business group meetings.
Creating, Administering, and Reporting on Assessment Instruments
I have expertise with assessment. I played a primary role in the creation, administration, and report writing/publishing of several university-wide cultural audits as well as surveys designed to assess the effectiveness of diversity retreats and mentoring programs.
Mentoring Employees or Human Resource Agents/Officers
I have mentored individuals as well as small groups to improve their diversity competency, enabling them to better fulfill their job or committee responsibilities (i.e., Train the Trainer programs). I have also helped to create and administer mentoring training programs.
Creating, Facilitating, and Assessing Diversity Workshops
Since 1998, I have been regularly training people -- from university employees (i.e., professors, deans, custodians, international teaching assistants, clerical staff) to employees of other institutions (i.e., city and county police officers, social workers, bank associates) -- in workshops designed to improve diversity competency.
